Location

The contents provide a general introduction for those who want to acquire the fundamentals of Spanish art. It is arranged chronologically, from Prehistory and Antiquity to the twentieth-century avant-gardes. A focus on Madrid-based monuments and museums is included in each session, so the attendants can visit the real places and museum collections to enhance their understanding after the sessions.

The course consists of 20 hours divided into 5 days, including 2 lessons of two hours per day in a morning schedule. Sessions include presentations based mainly on images of the relevant artworks to be discussed in the classroom amongst the participants. Attendants will learn about the main periods, styles, artists, works of art and architecture in a structured and easy manner. each session starts with a general, historical introduction to understanding the works of art in their context. Participation and contributions are encouraged at all times.
