Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students will have acquired capabilities to:

 

    • become more familiar with the Italian Education System and Italian culture

    • improve  teaching and learning skills

    • evaluate and reuse different classroom teaching and learning strategies in one’s own context.

    • improve the motivation of students through filmmaking activities.

    • Share experiences and expertise with teachers from other european countries to develop a professional group network.

    • increase participants’ confidence in using smartphones as didactic tools.

    • promote European cooperation in the field of education within the framework of the Erasmus+ program

Programme

Here is an example of a daily program for an Outdoor Education and Learning course:

Day 1 (Monday):

  • 9:00am-10:00am: Introduction to the course and overview of mobile filmmaking
  • 10:00am-11:00am: Basics of smartphone videography: shot composition, lighting, and audio
  • 11:00am-11:15am: Break
  • 11:15am-12:00pm: Hands-on activity: shooting video with smartphones
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Editing basics: Introduction to video editing apps

Day 2 (Tuesday):

  • 9:00am-10:00am: Storytelling principles and techniques for the classroom
  • 10:00am-11:00am: Using digital storytelling to teach core curriculum concepts
  • 11:00am-11:15am: Break
  • 11:15am-12:00pm: Hands-on activity: creating a storyboard for a digital story
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Group feedback and review of storyboard

Day 3 (Wednesday):

  • 9:00am-10:00am: Advanced smartphone videography techniques: slow motion, time-lapse, and hyperlapse
  • 10:00am-11:00am: Adding music and sound effects to your videos
  • 11:00am-11:15am: Break
  • 11:15am-12:00pm: Hands-on activity: creating a short film using advanced videography techniques
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Group feedback and review of short films

Day 4 (Thursday):

  • 9:00am-10:00am: Best practices for managing media files and sharing content
  • 10:00am-11:00am: Collaborative digital storytelling: using cloud storage and digital platforms
  • 11:00am-11:15am: Break
  • 11:15am-12:00pm: Hands-on activity: creating and sharing a collaborative digital story
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Group feedback and review of collaborative digital stories

Day 5 (Friday):

  • 9:00am-10:00am: Copyright and fair use laws for digital content
  • 10:00am-11:00am: Ethical considerations when creating and sharing media content
  • 11:00am-11:15am: Break
  • 11:15am-12:00pm: Developing a plan for using digital storytelling in the classroom
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Final review and wrap-up of the course

Note: The program is just a draft and can be modified based on the needs and preferences of the participants and the instructor. The hands-on activities can be adjusted to accommodate different levels of skills and experience, and additional topics can be added if necessary.

FREE AFTERNOON CULTURAL VISIT

SCHEDULE: classes can take place in the Morning (9:00 – 13:00) or afternoon (15.00 – 19.00).

COURSE PROGRAM AND VENUE: The definite schedule will be sent to the participants approximately 3 weeks before the course.Any changes to the course are at the instructor’s discretion.
